North Campus Music Enhancement Opportunities

Plans for the relocation and expansion of the music department are underway. The music department and key communication areas of broadcast technology will move into B-Building. The renovated building will include the following:

  • Piano lab
  • Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) lab
  • Black-box theater
  • Audio recording studio
  • Television broadcast studio
  • Sound-proof classrooms
  • Student practice rooms
  • Faculty offices
  • Instrument storage and other essentials

General Music Info

Quincy University offers two degrees in the music field:  Music and Communication/Music Production. In addition, students of all majors participate in Concert Choir (38), Chamber Choir (16), Jazz Ensemble (17), Symphonic Band (30), and Marching Band (36). The music program presents six to eight concerts each semester in addition to a biennial Madrigal Dinner and an annual Spring Musical.  Popular core Liberal Arts Foundation Courses, such as Music Appreciation and The History of Jazz and Rock, expose students of all disciplines to music education- attracting over 100 students each year.
