Founded in 1860 by Franciscan friars, Quincy University (www.quincy.edu) is a Catholic, co-educational, residential university offering undergraduate, graduate, and adult education programs that integrate liberal arts, active learning, practical experience, and Franciscan values.  The university has 15 intercollegiate sports and is a member of the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Valley Conference for men and women.

Quincy, Illinois (pop. 41,000), situated on limestone bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, is described as a “small, big city.” Recognized by Forbes.com as one of the "Best Small Cities to Raise a Family," Quincy has all the comforts of a small town: safety, security, community pride, and friendliness, while offering big-city benefits, too: a variety of employers and industries, recreational opportunities, history, art, and nature.

As the regional hub, Quincy serves the shopping and business needs for a wide area and provides excellent medical facilities, social services, recreational activities and cultural outlets.

Just south of the intersection of Southeast Iowa, Northeast Missouri and
Western Illinois, Quincy is slightly over 100 miles from St. Louis and
Springfield, Ill.
