Job Description:  Are you comfortable with computers? The Help Desk Support person’s role is to ensure proper computer operation so that students, faculty and staff can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. The job may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools; as well as, giving in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level. Candidate will also be responsible for refilling paper in printers and performing maintenance tasks assigned by the Network Administrator. Candidates must have a general understanding of Windows and be willing and able to learn appropriate software and hardware used by Quincy University. Computer major NOT required. Hours are available between 11AM and 5PM. This job is a great resume builder.

Food Service

Position:  Hawks' Nest Bartender
Supervisor: Crystal Sutter
Room: Student Union
Hours:  5 ½ hours per week
Job Description: Responsibly serve individuals at the Hawks’ Next. Be able to effectively make drinks off of recipes and collect cash from these individuals for their drink purchases. Ensure that individuals are 21 or over when serving them a drink. Keep the establishment neat and orderly. Skills required:  Attend Safe Serve alcohol class, Alcohol Training.

Office of Multicultural and Leadership Programs

Position:  Student Assistant- Fraternity and Sorority Life and Leadership
Supervisor: Director of Multicultural and Leadership Programs
Room: Student Center Lower Level
Hours:  8: 00 AM to 7: 00 PM. 8-10 hours per week during academic year.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding work related issues and information at all times.
  • Communicate with chapters regarding chapter reporting to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Work with the Direct to ensure website is updated for Fraternity and Sorority Life.
  • Assist the Director with creating newsletter for Fraternity and Sorority Life.
  • Assist in the collection of data/information regarding Fall recruitment for both the interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils.
  • Provide support for general overall office events including but not limited to the Take Back the Night, MLK Day of Service and heritage month events, among others.
  • Provide general office assistance such as answering the phone, answering questions and greeting visitors.
  • Represent the Office of Leadership and Diversity Initiatives and Quincy University in a professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Have at least one year of Fraternity and Sorority Life experience.

Training:     Meet with supervisor and assist with recruitment and training of successor.

Position:  Grounds Worker

Hours:  15 hours per week
Job Description:  Perform trash/litter collection/removal, landscape maintenance (mowing, trimming, and removal of grass, shrubs, trees, and other planting(s). Maintain and utilize communications equipment, tools, and methods to coordinate and report work activities as required, perform other duties assigned. Skills required:  Ability to receive and complete instructions, operate grounds maintenance equipment in a safe fashion. Position routinely engages in sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, and lift 70 lbs.

Position:  Housekeeping Assistant
Supervisor: Monica Steffen

Hours:  20 hours per week
Job Description:  The housekeeping assistant will assist the housekeeping staff with basic housekeeping duties, including cleaning, trash removal, refinishing floors and other duties as assigned. Skills required:  Good communication skills and basic knowledge of housekeeping.

Position:  Maintenance Assistant

Hours:  20 hours per week
Job Description:  The maintenance assistant will assist the maintenance staff with building maintenance, painting, woodwork, and other related tasks, and will assist in other duties as assigned. Skills required:  Basic maintenance skills and a familiarity with tools.

Wellness Center

Position:  Peers to Peers

Room: Friars’ Hall Room 113- Wellness Center
Hours:  1-4 hours per week
Job Description:  Help RN Create posters for educational purposes, limited office duties, Work on team with 2 others to create events for education of peers, train others to do the same in student organization. Skills required:  Communicate to other peers health-related issues, integrity, creativity.

Position:  Creative Graphic Designer

Room: Friars’ Hall Room 113- Wellness Center
Hours:  2-3 hours per week
Job Description:  Create educational material to be displayed on the bulletin boards located by main elevators; rotate new materials onto boards every week; responsible for all content and appearance of the boards representing the QU wellness center. Skills required:  Graphic arts experience; the ability to createprofessional, attention-grabbing, bulletin boards.
