Entering his eighth year as head coach Bell has compiled a 126-82 overall record, leading the team to four National Tournament appearances and three 20-win seasons. On June 11, 2007 Bell was also named the Quincy University Athletic Director.

Prior to coming to Quincy, Bell served on the coaching staff at Drake University. While at Drake he served as the assistant coach 1996-99. Prior to the 1999-2000 season he was named associate head coach. Duties included on-floor coaching and practice organization as well as recruiting and team transportation and travel arrangements.
