Ken Oliver, PhDQuincy University assistant professor and counseling program director Ken Oliver, PhD, presented two workshop sessions at the North Central Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (NCACES) Conference held recently in Kansas City.
Oliver's first presentation, "Exploring Counselor Educator Perceptions of Online Counselor Education," discussed the preliminary findings of a research study designed to examine professional attitudes towards graduates trained in online counselor education programs.
The second presentation, "Pedagogical Concerns Surrounding the Promotion of Critical Consciousness in Counselor-Trainees," presented a model for incorporating an oppression framework into teaching counseling courses focusing on social and cultural issues.
NCACES is the bi-annual regional conference for the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision.
