QU to host Benefit Auction for St. Francis Solanus Chapel

chapel-logoQuincy University has announced it will host a Benefit Auction to support preservation efforts for the St. Francis Solanus Chapel (QU Chapel). Quincy University recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Chapel which features Romanesque style architecture, Byzantine artwork and irreplaceable Munich Pictorial Style stained glass windows. A chapel preservation committee has identified several critical preservation needs which the University hopes to address. Nearly $100,000 has been raised so far toward the Chapel Preservation Project.

The Chapel Benefit Auction will take place at 5:00 P.M. Saturday, March 23, 2013 in the QU Fitness Center at 18th and Oak, Quincy, Ill. Cost is $50 per person and includes dinner. Reservations may be made online at www.quincy.edu/auction or by phone at 217-228-5226.

The evening will include both a live and silent auction featuring items of all price and interest levels. Items to be auctioned include trips to Ireland, Africa, Colorado, Florida and Paris in addition to several exclusive in-home dinner parties. The silent auction will feature hundreds of items and gift cards from area businesses as well as unique, one-of-a-kind Quincy University experiences and items.
