Quincy University Celebrates Deaf Awareness Day

Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore will present a proclamation to Quincy University’s President Dr. Gervasi to honor Deaf Awareness Day on September 27. Students, faculty, and staff who participate will be asked not to speak for the entire day to simulate the experiences and frustrations that the Deaf members of society feel every day and how it feels to be victims of audism- the discrimination of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
