Quincy University is saddened to announce that Dr. John Schleppenbach, Quincy University professor of communication, passed away on Monday morning, February 24 at the age of 71. Affectionately known by many as simply “Dr. John”, Schleppenbach joined the Quincy University faculty in 1972 as an assistant professor of English. Dr. John and wife, Dr. Barbara Schleppenbach, associate professor of communication and chair of the division of fine arts, were instrumental in developing and expanding Quincy University’s communication department with almost 70 years of combined service to the Quincy University community.
