Five area high school seniors have been awarded 2014 Quincy University Presidential Scholarships. The selection process, which included 38 participants from five states, was held on the QU campus on February 8, 2014. Presidential Scholarship recipients are Lauren Beeman from Florissant, Mo.; Tim Bemis from Quincy, Ill.; Dylan Handlin from Springfield, Ill.; Emily Nelson from Florissant, Mo.; and Drake Reiter from Keokuk, Ia.
Invited participants for the prestigious four-year, full-tuition scholarship attained a minimum ACT score of 27 and a high school grade point average of 3.2 or higher. The two-part selection process included a timed, written essay and personal interviews with QU faculty. Additional activities included campus and program tours, panel discussions and presentations for parents by QU Administration.
