Quincy University’s department of fine arts and communication is hosting the second-annual Multimedia Festival on Thursday, December 8, at 7 p.m. in the Hawk’s Nest. The festival will showcase animation work from the electronic image making course and an original short film written and produced by students from the principles of film and scriptwriting course. Flash animations from eleven student artists will be shown. The short film Logging Out was written by junior TJ Jordan and stars seniors Brooklyn McCulloch and Kayleigh Kelley. It is a comedy that parodies our increasing dependence on technology.
“The students started with a blank page and have done a tremendous job seeing it through to a final product,” said Travis Yates, instructor of communication, regarding the film. “The script is very clever and every student had a role in the production, from the actors and directors to the script supervisor and boom operator. It should be a special night for all of them to see it on the big screen.”
The festival is open to the public and is free of charge. The Hawk’s Nest is located in the lower level of the Student Center at 18th & Lind.
