Mark Twain Words & Music

Quincy University Associate Professor of Education, Dr. Cindy Lovell, PhD, received the Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce "Community Betterment Award" for conceiving, writing, and co-producing "Mark Twain: Words & Music," a double-CD telling Twain's life in spoken word and song that features Clint Eastwood as Twain, Jimmy Buffett as Huck Finn, Garrison Keillor as the narrator, Angela Lovell as Susy Clemens, and songs by Emmylou Harris, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Rhonda Vincent, Bradley Walker, Carl Jackson, The Church Sisters, Sheryl Crow, Brad Paisley, Marty Raybon, Val Storey, Vince Gill, Joe Diffie and Ricky Skaggs.  The CD is a benefit for the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum where Lovell serves as executive director.Brad Paisely Cindy Lovell Carl JacksonBrad Paisely, Cindy Lovell, Carl Jackson

Lovell recently delivered keynotes and presented educator workshops on Mark Twain at the Irving, Texas Big Read event and the Alexandria, Louisiana Big Read event.  She also closed out the "Trouble Begins at Eight" lecture series at Elmira College in Elmira, NY with a keynote on Twain and the CD project.
