QU Sets Third Concert of Beethoven Cycle

The concluding concert of a cycle of Beethoven violin sonatas will be held Sunday, April 1, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Quincy University chapel. The public is invited to attend without charge.

Violinist Brian Gehrich and pianist Leonora Suppan-Gehrich will present three works: Sonata, Opus 12 No. 2; Sonata, Opus 30 No. 2; and Sonata Opus 30 No. 3. Suppan-Gehrich serves as artist-in-residence for the QU music program.

Ludwig van Beethoven wrote ten sonatas for violin and piano, most of them youthful works. The Gehrichs performed the other sonatas during two concerts presented in January and February.
