Full-time Biology Faculty (Open-Rank)

Quincy University, a Catholic liberal arts institution in the Franciscan tradition, seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty in Biology.

Responsibilities: QU is seeking qualified candidates to teach introductory biology, ecology, environmental sciences, and other field biology courses, including the possibility of teaching courses within their research interests. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Academic advising and committee work are expected after the first year. Faculty are encouraged to engage students in undergraduate research opportunities.

Assistant Professor of Theology (Tenure Track)

Quincy University, a Catholic liberal arts institution in the Franciscan tradition, seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Theology. QU offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology and Philosophy, with concentrations in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Catholic and Franciscan Theology, and Philosophy & Ethics. This position also serves the minor in Theology as well as the larger student body by offering theology courses as part of our Bonaventure Program of core studies.

Responsibilities:  QU is seeking qualified candidates to teach courses such as Introduction to Christian Moral Conscience, Christian Sexuality, Guide to Christian Marriage, and Catholic Social Teaching and/or other courses in their areas of expertise and interest.  The standard teaching load is 4 courses each semester.  Academic advising and committee work are expected after the first year.

Qualifications:  A doctorate in Theology or related field with a specialization in Catholic moral theology.  Those who are ABD and nearing completion are also encouraged to apply.  Some teaching experience at the college level is preferred.  Quincy University is committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse faculty.  We welcome and invite all to share our spirit and life.

HEAD STRENGTH COACH

Quincy University, a NCAA Division II institution and member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, invites applications for the position of Head Strength Coach.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a representative of the University, promoting QU’s mission, image and goals to colleagues and the community.
  • Oversee the strength and conditioning program for all QU student athletes
  • Schedules all strength and conditioning times and dates.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintance of strength equipment in the athletic weight room
  • Responsible for gaining or maintain necessary certification to hold the position of Head Strength coach
  • Abide by the policies, regulations and any rules of the NCAA, conference, and Quincy University, including the Quincy University Code of Ethics for Coaches.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years’ strength and conditioning experience
  • CPR Certification and pertinent Strength and Conditioning Certifications
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Available for flexible hours including nights, weekends and travel.

Head Sprint Football Coach

Quincy University is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Sprint Football Coach to join our Athletics Department. This role is essential in promoting and developing the Sprint Football program in alignment with Quincy University’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the University with professionalism, showing courtesy, tact, and discretion with the QU community and the public.
  • Oversee all program aspects, including recruiting, budget management, academic monitoring, fundraising, and scheduling to maintain a competitive program.
  • Hire, mentor, and retain a qualified team of assistant coaches to support recruitment, training, and team operations.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA, Great Lakes Valley Conference, MSFL, MIVA, and Quincy University regulations, and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Develop effective training plans, breaking down complex strategies to teach student-athletes the skills of Sprint Football.
  • Foster an inclusive team environment that promotes academic success, retention, and personal development.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Athletics and Sports Information to enhance program visibility, attendance, and revenue.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of collegiate-level coaching experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population and handle flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license and CPR certification required.

Bus Driver

Quincy University is seeking a responsible and experienced Bus Driver to join the Quincy University Athletics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and customer service. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting our student-athletes, coaches, and staff to and from sporting events and activities in a timely and courteous manner.

Rate of Pay: $25.00

 Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a bus on assigned routes, adhering to traffic laws and university policies.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus, including helping with luggage and equipment.
  • Ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers during transport.
  • Communicate effectively with team coordinators, and other staff members.
  • Handle emergencies and incidents calmly and efficiently, following established protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior, reporting any issues to maintenance staff.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing passenger inquiries and concerns professionally.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a bus driver or in a similar role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
