QU ANNOUNCES RECORD QU FUND RESULTS
Quincy University has surpassed its annual QU Fund drive goal of $1.4 million for the 2023-2024 year. This marks the highest QU Fund amount raised in university history.
“Once again, the alumni, parents, friends, staff, and faculty of Quincy University are signaling their strong financial commitment to the current and future students of this great institution,” said Brian McGee, PhD, QU president. “As we finish a year in which we had a 50-year high for freshman enrollment, we have also set yet another new record for the QU Fund. With new programs, innovative ideas, and a deep commitment to individual student success in a supportive Catholic and Franciscan environment, Quincy University is on the move, thanks to our generous supporters.”
Including gifts to endowment and restricted gifts, the university raised a total of $8,251,937, the third highest in university history. Fundraising campaign totals over the past three years brought in over $24M.
The total number of donors investing in QU this year topped 3,400, which is the largest number of donors in the last 14 years.
“We are thrilled by the support we have received from QU alumni, friends and family,” said Robert Wyatt, PhD, QU vice president of advancement. “We celebrate the generosity of so many and the lives of students, faculty and staff that will be positively affected by this funding. This level of support allows us to continue to train tomorrow’s leaders as we have done for more than 160 years.”
The 2023-2024 QU Fund raised $1,436,505, exceeding its goal by 3%. This marks the 14th year in a row that the annual fund has topped $1M. The QU Fund is comprised of unrestricted giving and gifts for academic departments, student clubs and organizations, and the athletic department.
This year’s QU Fund chairs were brothers Chuck Davis ’02 and Bill Davis ’04 from Springfield, Ill. They generously invested in this year’s annual drive, made personal fundraising calls, helped author appeal letters, and provided valuable advice and counsel for this year’s fund.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed to the QU Annual Fund this year,” said Bill Davis. “Both Chuck and I are very happy to have another record-breaking year. It was a joy to help out our alma mater and our hometown.” Chuck Davis added, “On behalf of not only ourselves, but the students, staff, administrators, and alumni of Quincy University, thank you for your contributions to the QU Annual Fund.”
Each year the QU Fund raises money to support student scholarships, campus enhancements, technology upgrades and faculty development initiatives. The annual fund gifts are unrestricted, meaning they can be spent as they come in, making an immediate impact. Support of the QU Fund ensures that the mission and vision of Quincy University continue, providing students with an outstanding Catholic and Franciscan education.
In addition, the QU fund helps fuel QU’s Success by Design initiative, in which each student completes an individualized success plan for on-time graduation and the pursuit of a life of meaning and purpose.
