QU Dining Services Receives Regional Awards
Quincy University Dining Services, operated by The Compass Group’s Chartwells Higher Education division, has received two regional awards for best practices for the third straight year.
QU Dining has been selected 2018 Chartwells Higher Education Regional Account of the Year. The region from which QU Dining was recognized includes local campus dining programs like Illinois College and MacMurray College, both in Jacksonville, Illinois, as well as larger regional schools like UIC, University of Arkansas, Oakland University, Tennessee Tech, Austin Peay, IUPUI and many others. Best practices recognized in Quincy include menu quality and variety, guest service, student engagement, wellness and sustainability, safety, diversity and inclusion, and community involvement.
QU Dining’s leadership team includes Chris Blakeman, sr. director of dining, Joe Bordewick, director of dining, Kelly Pfab, assistant director of dining and Chef Chase Mangan. In addition to the team recognition, Quincy’s Chris Blakeman was named 2018 Chartwells Higher Education Regional Director of the Year. Chris joined QU Dining in 2012 and has 37 years of food service management experience.
QU Dining’s 2018 staff includes Teri “Sue” Badgley, Bryar Baker, Darrin Bishop, Barb Blake, Angie Boll, Paula Bowen, Teresa Bowman, Tim Brown, Cathy Burke, Cecily Dawson, Angie Eager, Connie Fielding, Vicki Fuller, Robin Hummert, Matt Meulemans, Cindy Murry, Peggy Neff, Brent Nicholson, Tony Prescimone, Keegan Reckers, Gary Salisbury, Jeromy Shumaker, Clarence Skipper and Lynn Williams.
In 2017, QU Dining was awarded the Five-Jewel Award for Inclusion Excellence for their efforts to “ignite inclusion” in the workplace. In addition to their team recognition, Kelly Pfab and Robin Hummert received individual awards as well. QU Dining was also named Chartwells Higher Education Regional Account of the Year in 2016.
