The QU Hawk Express Jazz Band is under the direction of Christine Damm, DMA, dean of the school of fine arts and communication. The jazz band will perform a wide array of jazz tunes including Alamode, Don’t Get Around Much Anymore, Abacus, and The Egg. Alanna Edgecomb, junior music major, will be featured on the Alto Saxophone on the ballad, Through the Looking Glass.  Senior vocalist, John Beisner, will be featured on the chart, Sweet Home Chicago.

The music department will host an open house following the Hawk Express Jazz Band Fall Concert to showcase the newly renovated music area in the Connie Niemann Center for Music.

“Having the new music offices, practice rooms, and classrooms directly next to the Connie Niemann Center for Music provides a cohesive space for our students and growing music program,” said Christine Damm, DMA, dean of the school of fine arts and communication.
