QU Recognizes Homeowners with Yard of the Month Program
Quincy University is recognizing area homeowners yards to encourage community pride and promote excellent lawn and property care in the neighborhoods surrounding QU. The university will be recognizing homes in the area from 14th to 24th streets and from Broadway to Seminary Rd.
“At Quincy University, we are proud of our great relationship with the city and region. In particular, our neighbors near campus do so much to create a wonderful environment for our students, families, faculty, and staff,” said QU President Brian, McGee, Ph.D.
“We wanted to demonstrate our appreciation for the many beautiful yards and homes near QU, which show our Quincy pride and make a great impression on our students and families. It’s our small way of saying thank you to some of our many good neighbors.”
Homeowners will be recognized with a letter from the president and a sign to put in their yard that says, “Quincy University Neighborhoods Yard of the Month.” In addition, homeowners will receive QU sports passes and t-shirts.
“I am glad to see Quincy University recognizing the neighborhood pride in the area surrounding the campus,” said Jeff Bergman, second ward alderman for the City of Quincy. “This program will highlight the pride in ownership that many of our neighbors exhibit.”
