Quincy University Master’s Program Recognized Nationally
Quincy University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program was recently recognized as one of the most affordable, high-quality counseling master’s programs in the country by a leading reviewer of accredited human services-related programs. HumanServicesEDU.org lauded QU’s Master of Science in Education-Counseling (MEC) program for its overall quality and value.
“We are extremely pleased to be recognized,” said Ken Oliver, Graduate Counseling Program director and School of Education division chair. “Any opportunity to speak to the value proposition of Quincy University helps to dispel common misconceptions about independent colleges being more costly to attend, particularly at the graduate level.”
“When we performed an exhaustive analysis of tuition rates for every CACREP-accredited counseling master’s program available in the U.S., we had just one goal in mind: identify programs offering the best value in the education marketplace through a combination of uncompromising quality and affordability,” said the editorial staff at HumanServicesEDU.org. “Quincy University’s MS in Education Counseling – Clinical Mental Health Counseling is a program we would recommend on the basis of quality alone. And with tuition that’s more than $32,000 below the average cost of similar programs offered at private institutions in Illinois, it’s also a program that easily earns its place among the Most Affordable Counseling Master’s Programs in the Country for 2019-20.”
The Quincy University Graduate Counseling Program boasts two CACREP-accredited programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling and one non-clinical program in College Student Personnel-Student Affairs. The QU counseling program is currently the only CACREP-accredited program within a 100-mile radius.
“Maintaining a high-quality, high-value counseling program is a natural fit with the Franciscan mission of Quincy University,” said Oliver.
