Students Use Holiday Break to Study Abroad
As the rest of us welcome the new year as we always do–teased by Midwestern winter’s frigid unpredictability–a group of eight Quincy University students, two faculty members, and three alumni are bringing in 2016 in beautiful (and warm) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as they study abroad.
Quincy University Students Study Abroad
Experiencing new cultures, exciting nightlife, and breathtaking sceneries, our QU sightseers are amidst an eight-day guided tour of South America’s sixth-largest city. Highlights include Samba dancing lessons, snorkeling and canoeing off the coast of Sepetiba Bay, a close-up tour of Estádio do Maracanã (home of the 2016 Olympic Games), and a cog-wheel train up the Corcovado Mountain—historic site of the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue!
For students, the once in a lifetime experience is the “final project” for two fall courses: Tropical Ecology (BIO-356) and The Atlantic World (HIS-300). Both courses are open to students from every major.
