QU IMPLEMENTING NEW STUDENT SUCCESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Quincy University is implementing a student success management system designed to help proactively manage student success. It links faculty, advisors, professors, staff, and students in a coordinated network designed to help students navigate their way from admission to graduation.
“QU Navigate is part of our ongoing commitment to student success and is the latest feature of our comprehensive Success by Design program,” said Brian McGee, PhD, QU president. “With this easily used and intuitive software tool, students, faculty, and staff can readily connect with one another and find essential information and assistance. Once again, Quincy University is striving to be at the forefront of the student success movement by removing barriers to student achievement and promoting on-time graduation.”
QU Navigate provides smart guidance at the most pivotal moments college students encounter. QU Navigate also unlocks the power of data analytics, bringing real-time insights and student success management intelligence to administrators and leaders on campus.
“Navigate cuts through the confusion about things like advising and degree planning. The information in the platform makes communication clearer and more effective,” said Nora Baldner, assistant professor of communication. “Being able to track alerts, appointments, and student progress is key to success for both student and faculty member. The tools in Navigate make my job easier by alerting me to struggling students early in the semester, and keeps track of the progress we hope all of our students experience in their time at QU.”
The QU Navigate mobile app is a powerful tool that students use to contact and make appointments with members of their success team, stay on top of important deadlines and to-do’s, find and create study groups, and locate important campus resources. The QU Navigate app is downloaded on students’ phones or other mobile devices and can be accessed with a desktop version.
“From the students’ standpoint, they have the ability to set appointments with anyone and
have a better idea of what they need to do for other departments if needed,” said Gary Bass, head football coach. “I believe the features of Navigate are going to benefit the young men and women of QU for years to come.”
